Many migrants within the African community attempt to establish small businesses out of necessity, often due to barriers in the formal labour market such as racial discrimination, lack of Australian work experience, or limited recognition of overseas qualifications. However, without adequate knowledge of compliance, financial literacy, and access to professional networks, these businesses are at high risk of failure. Such failures often result in financial hardship, debt, unemployment, and family distress.
